Position Reports To (Title): Dean of Career Programs
Purpose of Position:

Teach and assess student learning outcomes in Networking, Network Security, Cisco Routers, TCP/IP, PC Servicing, UNIX/Linux, Interoperability of smart grid systems and Integration of Tablets and Smart Devices in networks. In collaboration with colleagues, responsible for ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement in student learning and program completion. Facilitate student learning outside of the classroom through participation in co-curricular learning activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Learner-centered Instruction: Teach program courses according to course syllabi, assess student learning for continuous improvement in instruction. Promote learner-centered scheduling, including evening courses, off-campus courses, high school partnership and web-enhanced and/or web-delivered courses. Provide office hours conducive to student schedules.

• Curriculum Development: Participate in ongoing program assessment to continuously improve student learning outcomes, retention and program completion as well as employment and transfer. Develop and/or revise course(s) and methods of instruction as needed. Propose and develop computer-assisted, contextualized, modularized, simulated or other instructional methodologies intent on improving student learning and goal completion.

• Technology: Integrate instructional technology, including online and web-blended courses as appropriate in the discipline of Computer Network Security & Administration. Support the CNET server, an entire infrastructure with its own domain, AD domain controller servers, firewall, and other servers used by the program.

• Involvement: Support college-wide initiatives and serve on committees. Mentor and support adjunct faculty in Computer Network Security & Administration.

• Professional Development: Initiate and maintain active participation in professional development opportunities that encompass the disciplines of Computer Network Security & Administration and Smartgrid and maintain affiliations with regional and national computer network security and administration employers and associations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions


• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and 2000 hours work experience required.
• 2 years of teaching experience and Master’s Degree preferred.
• Teaching experience at the college level preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the community college required.
